Nathaniel S. Wilson, Sailmaker

I recently dropped by Nathaniel S. Wilson, Sailmaker, in East Boothbay and captured some great shots of the sail loft. Nat Wilson opened his shop in 1975, hand-cutting sails on the floor of his shop and using industrial sewing machines and hand tools for his craft. Trade Wind, a 1938 Alden Motor-Sailer recently restored and launched by Rockport Marine, features gorgeous hand-crafted Nat Wilson sails. I'll be heading back to the loft again this summer to shoot more in this stunning setting.

Nautical Images Gallery Reopens

Nautical Images Gallery and Langley Photography are now located on the Camden Public Landing. The new gallery is located at 8 Public Landing, nestled between Cappy's Chowder house and the waterfall, overlooking the docks of bustling Camden Harbor. One of the best perks is that Alison can dock her chase boat right outside in front of the gallery! We couldn't be happier with the studio, and the gallery will be up and running by July 1. Please stop in and shop for nautical prints, posters or note cards.camden with arrow sm

Hello Friends! Here's the video I shot of the Rock Salt 28 Special. Enjoy!

Rock Salt Video
frame-000059

Last week I took a trip to Palacios, Texas, on the Gulf, a great shrimping community and home of the Rock Salt Alloy Boats manufacturing facility to shoot a video assignment...yes, VIDEO! The result of the efforts was an exciting video of Rock Salt 28 Special in action. Rock Salt is the only company making and marketing a true deep-vee hull executed in aluminum alloy. It's a great sea boat. The video is being debuted today, December 2, as part of Rock Salt's trade show booth at the International WorkBoat Show. I've attached a couple frame grabs from the video - stay tuned for the full video next week. And keep an eye out for more video and multimedia pieces from Langley Photography in 2010!

New Studio!

For my friends, clients and colleagues who haven’t heard from me for a few days, we’ve been moving into the new studio. As you can see, we’ll be unpacking boxes for days...but the business is up and running, full steam ahead. With a view of Camden Harbor, gorgeous skylights and beautiful pine floors milled from trees on our property, it’s beginning to feel like home. Well, it practically is since home is right next store.

These photos show the studio in transition - from drywalling to unpacking. We still have a lot of work to do before the space is ready for an open house, but we’ll keep you apprised of the progress. If you’d like to drop in to see the studio, give us a call or email ahead to be sure we’re here.
